Neural therapy
discover the healing power of neural therapy
Neural therapy is a holistic type of therapy that is based on the principles of regulation therapy. Its aim is to bring disturbed functions in the body back into balance, thereby supporting healing processes.
But what is neural therapy exactly, who is it suitable for and what happens during treatment? In this entry we would like to address these questions.
What is neural therapy?
Neural therapy is a natural remedy with its origins in Germany. It is based on the ideas that disturbances in the body are often caused by electrolyte imbalances in certain areas, so-called disorder fields. These disorder fields can occur at different points of the body and have far-reaching effects. Neural therapy aims to correct these imbalances by injecting local anaesthetics such as procaine or lidocaine into these specific areas.
In general medicine, neural therapy is used for a range of complaints and illnesses. These include:
- Acute and chronic pain (e.g. back pain and headache)
- Inflammatory diseases (e.g. arthritis, tendinitis)
- Functional disturbances (e.g. irritable bowel, digestive problems)
- Nerve irritations and inflammations (e.g. trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica)
- Immune system disorders (e.g. allergies, hay fever)
Neural therapy can be subdivided into three forms:
- Local therapy
In local therapy, there is an injection directly where the pain is. The anaesthetic interrupts the pain irritant, bringing rapid relief. Frequently affected areas:
- Entheses
- Periosteum
- Joints
- Muscle hardening (often also the seat of trigger points)
- Segment therapy
Segment therapy means that the local anaesthetic is also used around the affected area in the associated segment. The segments represent certain organ systems that can project onto superficial areas due to nerve connections. The injection of the anaesthetic under the skin therefore also has an effect on these nerve pathways that lead to the inner organs, thereby stimulating the healing process. - Disorder field therapy
This is used especially if segment therapy is not taking effect. There is a search for so-called “disorder fields”, meaning areas of the body that keep sending out signals. These signals prevent the body from being able to regulate itself, even though the disorder field itself is without symptoms. If the system is overburdened further in another area, it can lead to complaints that the body can no longer compensate for. If the disorder field is eliminated through anaesthesia, it restores the ability of the body to regulate itself. Frequent disorder fields are scars but e.g. paranasal sinuses or the dental area can also be affected.
A person's pain is as varied and individual as their experiences with love.
For whom is neural therapy helpful?
In case of neck pain or a throbbing head: neural therapy counters acute and chronic pain with injections. This is especially helpful for people who suffer from chronic pain, inflammations, musculoskeletal complaints and a range of functional disorders. Patients with chronic headache, backache, arthritis, certain types of neuralgia or even digestive disorders could benefit from this therapy.
When is it used?
Neural therapy is used primarily in those areas where pain or functional disorders occur and when conventional medical approaches have not brought any relief. It is especially useful for treating chronic pain conditions or patients looking for a more holistic approach to their health. It is important to emphasise that neural therapy should be seen as a supplement to conventional medicine, not as a substitute.
What happens during treatment?
A neural therapy session starts with a detailed anamnesis, during which your doctor discusses your medical history and current complaints. Based on this, he identifies potential disorder fields in your body. The actual treatment consists of injections with a local anaesthetic into these identified areas. Many patients report an immediate easing of their symptoms, although sometimes several sessions are necessary to achieve long-term results.
Welcome to a fascinating insight into the world of neural therapy, a unique form of treatment that is offered at the Ortners’ Eschenhof at Bad Kleinkirchheim.
In the picturesque setting of Eschenhof, your health hotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim, you can not only enjoy the peace and beauty of nature, but also have access to this innovative and potentially life-changing type of therapy. Whether you are suffering from recurring or chronic pain or are simply looking for an alternative healing method, neural therapy could be exactly what your body needs to restore its balance.
Apart from the areas of application, Dr. Ortner draws attention in particular to the positive effect of neural therapy when it comes to stress reduction, burnout prophylaxis and healthy sleep. At Eschenhof, we have developed a new concept that aims to promote the wellbeing of our guests and ensure relaxation and regeneration.
Neural therapy can help to release stress-induced tension and harmonise the vegetative nervous system. This leads to better stress resistance and healthier sleep. Through the activation of the endogenous powers of self-healing, neural therapy can contribute to preventing burnout symptoms and raising the quality of life in the long term.
