  • Malta-Hochalm-Straße Kölnbrein Dam
    Through the middle of the fantastic alpine world of the Tauern, the Malta-Hochalm-Strasse leads you to the Kölnbrein Dam.
    Special Tip: In the restaurant at the Kölnbrein Dam you will find various exhibitions (free entry)treasury chamber - exhibition of minerals, guided tour into the 200m high dam, local Carinthian specialties in the Mountain Restaurant Malta.

    The interesting fortress museum, as well as the outstanding facilities with the 14 castle gates are an exceptional carinthian rarity.
    Special Tip: you can take the elevator from the first gate up to the fortress,  fortress restaurant. On your way to the fortress, take a side trip to the Längsee. the restaurant Ligl is worth a special stop.
